These Condors had just a few seconds before been spreading their enormous wings and and flapping at us as we passed by.

A bald eagle - This one was let loose to fly from the mountain where this reserve is located. We waited about 15 minutes and were told that, because it was so heavy, it could not come back until the air currents were strong enough for it to lift itself back up the thousand or so feet from where it had descended
