Otavalo off to the right as we ride up into the mountains Through the forest paths We set off riding at about 9:30 on a bunch of very sweet horses up, up, up into the hills over Otavalo. Eamon was a great horseman and loved riding. The terrain was very challenging but the day was gorgeous and the scenery was beyond description. Colleen's horse alsways stayed snuggled up against the horse of our guide. Theo looked very dapper in his newly acquired hat. Eamon's horse was the most chilled of all and liked to keep its distance from the crowd. The day was gorgeuos and the roads, paths and fields that we traversed led us to the most beautiful scenery. Passing a lady tending her sheep Theo riding tall in the saddle Eamon and his horse high over Otavalo The woman with the sheep off to work in the fields. Colleen at the sacred tree. We were told that the tree is the husband and the lake below is the wife. Taking a rest at the top of the mountain. The tree at the left is thought to be sacred by the local people and folks come here before weddings to be blessed standing under it. Otavalo to the left and Lago de San Pablo Theo in the beautiful countryside Heading down, down, down This is a waterfall we stopped at higher up in the hills We tried to get a family portrait but a few extra people showed up. Colleen's horse gets his reward at the end of the trail. Our guide on the right and a motorcyclist we met along the way. Tom and Colleen at the top of the mountain overlooking the lakes and Otavalo. We didn't plan the wardrobe. Heading back down a VERY steep path Eamon enjoying the day Coming back into town
