Quaker House
This is the outside of the Quaker House. It was run by a wonderful young woman named Jenn. On the street outside the house, a manhole sat without a cover, a common occurrence I am told in Managua. We always had to warn the taxi drivers to steer clear of it.

Near the house were a couple of "pulperias" , tiny grocery stores run by families. A few blocks away was a very modern market where black market money changers gave an exchange rate as good as the banks. The dollar, however, was a generally accepted currency in Nicaragua.
