Quaker House
In Managua we stayed at the Quaker House, a large and comfortable house in a fairly quiet section of the city. It had lots of space (at one point there were about 25 people staying there) with a nice patio in the rear. Managua has no street names or addresses so it was always interesting to me giving directions to the taxi drivers. For instance, the Quaker House address was "Barrio Las Prisas, de La Hospital Lenin Fonseca, cinco cuadras al lago, setenta y cinco varas arriba." which roughly means, In the Las Brisas neighborhood, from the Lenin Fonseca Hospital, go 5 blocks north (to the lake) and 75 yards east or to the right.
