1981-82 Pattern Paintings
All of these paintings were made over the course of a few months. The process was somewhat involved. I cut paper stencils from paper in intricate patterns using tape to make three-dimensional patterns by taping down portions of the cut shapes. I then sprayed tempera paint through the patterns onto Japanese paper using a little silver atomizer while moving to different parts of the pattern.  The whole process was slow but yielded some interesting patterns and transitions. These pieces were never shown.
