| This is Pepe the husband of Jezabel. He was a wonderful old man with a twinkle in his eye, a great sense of humor. Tom and Colleen struggled to converse with him since he spoke primarily Gallego, a mixture of Spanish, Latin and Portuguese, which is the primary language of this art of Spain. Nonetheless, we spent time sitting on the stone wall along the road in front of his house or walking along the roads near the village, talking about his life, what the village was like when he was yooung and ruminating on life in general. His dog was called Patuco and he would timidly sneak into the threshold of our house for a morsel of food. |
